Wallace Eide, Private, Army, WWII

Minneapolis, Minnesota

My father served in the constabulary in Germany towards the tail end of WWII. The constabulary is a military or para-military type force consisting of soldiers trained for police duties. These were mostly established by the US in the several countries over which it had protective status, West Germany being one of them, after World War II. These forces also performed military functions by maintaining "mobile forces" of organised units. I lost my father in February of this year. He was the most patriotic person I know, and I miss him very much.
