Beginning with George Washington, our faith in God helped shaped our great country. Men and women who served in her military showed courage, determination, love of God and country, and purpose. GEORGE FRANKLIN BOURN served in the Army Air Corps during World War iI starting at the age of 19. Serving mostly in Sicility and North Africa he has seen the horrors of war at its worst and yet bravely continued on. After the war had ended he returned to his native Ohio where he earned a BS from Kent State University and subsequently was called into the ministry, receiving his JD inn theology from Emory University in Atlanta. He was finally given the medals he earned during the war 64 years after the war ended by Congresswoman Ginny Brown-Waite. His life is an example of his faith and he proudly wears his Army Air Corps cap every day. At 87, he is proud of his service and prays for our country.
