CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT CHRISTOPHER E. MUNCY (Dayton, OH) Chief Master Sergeant Christopher E. Muncy is the tenth Command Chief Master Sergeant to the Director of the Air National Guard, National Guard Bureau, Washington, DC. He represents the highest level of enlisted leadership for the Air National Guard. Chief Muncy is responsible for the interest regarding welfare, readiness, morale, proper utilization and progress concerning the enlisted personnel of the Air National Guard. Chief Muncy is from Dayton, Ohio. He entered the U.S. Air Force in October 1977 and later the Ohio Air National Guard in 1979 with the 269th Combat Communications Squadron at Springfield. He moved to the 178th Communications Flight in 1995; in December 1995 he was the first COMSEC Manager for the 4400th Ops Squadron Taszar AB, Hungary for Operation Joint Endeavor. In 1997 he moved to the 251st Combat Comm Group as Chief of Current Operations. On 6 Oct 2001, Chief Muncy assumed the duties of Chief, US Air Forces in Europe (USAFE) Theater Aerospace Operations Support Center - A6 Current Ops, Ramstein Air Base, Germany for Operation Enduring Freedom. In February 2003, he became the Chief, USAFE Liaison team to USCENTAF/C6 Combined Air Operations Center, Prince Sultan AB, Saudi Arabia for Operation Iraqi Freedom. In August 2004, Chief Muncy became the Ohio State Command Chief. His duties have taken him around the nation and to Iraq, Qatar, Kuwait, and other nations. He worked in close coordination with Ohio's state Partnership nations of Serbia and Hungary. Chief Muncy was the Chairman of the Air National Guard's Enlisted Field Advisory Council (EFAC) and taught the Air National Guard's Chief's Executive Course, as well as Satellite NCO Academy and Airmen Leadership School.
