Adam Parsons (Pataskala, OH) I've always looked up to my older brother as both a Christian and a patriot (but that's a bit redundant). Every morning for years, he has woken up, raised his flag, said the pledge of allegiance and a short prayer to the creator before he left to tend his soda shop in our small Ohio town. One day, two of his employees, recent immigrants, attempted to rob him at gunpoint. He told them that true Americans work for their money, no matter how low the pay, and refused to hand over the cash. They shot him, but, providentially, they shot him in the chest, where the two bullets were stopped by the Gideon Bible and pocket Constitution he carries religiously. Ever since then, remembering that the money that was saved says "In God We Trust," he has donated 1% of his profits (after tax) to a program of his creation that educates new immigrants in the flag code and the principles of free enterprise, so that they can replace their primitive ways with true, pure American ideals.
